Our interns have just a few weeks left, so it’s about time we meet our Stonebridge at Burlington intern – Richard Darrach!
Richard is entering his senior year at Westfield State University for a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. At WSU, Richard is very busy – he is a resident assistant and was recently elected Senior Class President!
Having worked in assisted living since he was sixteen years old, Richard actually began his internship career with the Northbridge Companies in 2011 at Avita of Needham. There, he found his biggest mentor, Eileen and wishes to become a Business Office Manager, like her. He eventually hopes work his way to be an Executive Director – but, “all in good time” he says.
This summer at Stonebridge, Richard has been working with every department to learn what makes Stonebridge such a strong community. He enjoys working with the staff on activities, spending time with residents and learning their daily routine. However, Richard notes, he uses the term ‘daily routine’ loosely because every day is something new here. One minute he can be working with supporting staff, the next with department heads, and always at 5:00 PM Richard can be found in Avita helping serve supper, laughing, and enjoying the evening with residents.
For his final project as an intern, Richard will be working on technology and social media enhancements. We’re excited to see all his hard work and true dedication come together!
Be sure to say hello to Richard next time you are at Stonebridge at Burlington!
